In case you didn’t know, it’s Life Insurance Awareness month. And in case you did, it’s still Life Insurance Awareness month 🙂 Oh no, you’re thinking- she’s going to talk about life insurance.
Most people would rather take a hot poker in the eye than talk about life insurance. They make excuses such as “I don’t have time.” Or, “It depresses me to talk about it.” Or my personal favorite- “I’m not going to be around anyway, so why worry about it?”
To all those that have said something similar, you need to know this:
Life Insurance Is NOT About You. It’s….. About….. Them.
It’s about the people who are left behind to pick up the pieces. The people who have to deal with the aftermath. The people, who at the worst time of their life, are surrounded by so many who want nothing but to take, take, take. And they have nothing left to give.
So, the next time you start to work up an excuse, put on your big girl or big boy pants and remember,
It’s Not About You. It’s About Them.
So Get Over Yourself.
A professional insurance advisor is always your best choice for helping you weave through the maze of options. We’ve got the training and skills to listen to your story and make recommendations that are applicable to you. We can also explain so you understand. That’s our process at my office, Alan Galvez Insurance. We ask “What are you trying to accomplish?” We want to know who you’re providing for and what you want to provide. You can also access a glossary of life insurance terms on our website as well.
One of my favorite resources is the LIFE foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping consumers make smart insurance decisions to safeguard their families’ financial futures. You can review a wealth of helpful information, such as articles, videos, and even a calculator that gets you started in figuring out how much life insurance you need. You can view their resources at www.lifehappens.org.
I would love to hear your stories as to how life insurance has helped you or a loved one. Please feel free to share. Thanks for reading.
