For those of you who have been with me for a while, you’re used to seeing the words “Confessions of an Insurance Goddess” greet you when you visit.
Those words are gone.
But don’t panic. I haven’t quit writing, it’s just in a different place. Seriously, go check it out. I’ll wait.
All better now?
If you enjoy my writing, things are about to get even better…….
Re-branding Confessions of an Insurance Goddess: The next step in the journey
For some time, I’ve been waging a war against myself. Not in a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde kind of way, but rather one of fear. Fear of taking the next step. Of moving forward. Of heading into uncharted waters. But first…..
A lot has happened since I started blogging in 2009.
I’ve improved (a lot. thank God. whoo, some of those early posts….).
I’ve written a ton of articles. Not only here, but for industry publications and insurance-related vendors. Check out my Resources for examples.
I’ve spoken at a few industry events about my brand The Insurance Goddess.
I’ve read (and continue to read) lots of other insurance and marketing blogs, researched trends & technologies and used my own agency as a “laboratory” for marketing projects, both online and off. I’ve had failures. I’ve had successes.
But I’ve been an avid and devoted student of marketing, particularly branding and digital marketing (blogging, social media, email). And I continue to be.
So it was a natural next step to wrap my Insurance Goddess brand into a much larger brand- ME. You see, The Insurance Goddess is only one part of me. And there’s so much more to share beyond just that character.
Before you holler- she’s NOT going anywhere. She’s been too good to me and I have too much fun with the character to get rid of her.
But it’s time to see beyond that. There’s more journey to be had……
So back to the fear part- Yep I’m scared of failing. Of not being taken seriously. Of being ridiculed. Of being told I don’t know what I’m talking about.
But you know what?
My gut tells me it’s time to take the next step. And it’s never led me astray before.
What you’ll find here
My complete archive of articles is here, and I will continue to publish new articles. So the writing is still very much alive and intact. Because, I am and always will be, a writer.
This re-branding is designed to offer you more insight into my experience with insurance branding and marketing. From marketing tips & strategies- most of them coming directly from my experiences with my own insurance agency- to more personal observations, my new goal is simple:
Help individuals and small businesses discover and create their brand and share the story of that brand through digital marketing- specifically blogging and social media.
Why I am doing this?
Because I want to connect with people on a deeper level. Other insurance and business professionals who are struggling with understanding the importance of branding and marketing in their business. Or those who simply need a jump start. I’ve been where you are. I can help you not make the same mistakes I did. I can help you understand what works and what doesn’t when it comes to marketing your insurance agency.
But most of all, I love the feeling of excitement when I help someone have a “lightbulb” moment. The Ah-Ha! moment if you will.
I love getting in front of a group of people- the excitement, the interaction- I get totally jacked up and in my element.
I love writing. And if I can write an article for your publication that educates and entertains your audience and brings value based on my experiences, I’m all in.
